Battle Tanks

21. okt. 2021 – Today, the M1 Abrams, initially introduced in 1980, has gained a reputation as the world’s best tank. That’s no small feat considering the number of tanks available out there. The beastly machine was named after General Creighton Abrams, a prominent commander of military operations during the Vietnam War, and it’s a platform of technological innovation. It’s equipped with main guns that can shoot projectiles up to 4.7 in (120mm) in size and has an extremely rigid armor fitted with extra layers of steel and depleted uranium. It also boasts caterpillar tracks powered by gas turbine engines. The M1A1 and the M1A2 also came out of the development of the M1 Abrams. Each iteration was heavier and slower but also fitted with far more powerful armaments and advanced technology. The reason the M1 Abrams has proved so popular in war is because it is not just incredibly tough, it’s also surprisingly mobile. This mobility is due to its treads: continuous steel-plates linked together with chainmail. These treads allow the M1 to tackle all sorts of terrain that normal tires just could not. One thing is for sure, you don’t want to get stuck in this tank’s crossfires. We bet, however, that you do want to see it in action. In our video, we bring you footage of this beast in action and also discuss the science, technology, and engineering that goes into building such a dangerous war machine. The Saudi membership was due to start on 1 January, but there was a delay before it was confirmed. The Brics group wants emerging economies to have more influence in international politics.

What does Brics mean and who are the new members? In 2006, Brazil, Russia, India and China created the “Bric” group. South Africa joined in 2010, making it “Brics”. The group was designed to bring together the world’s most important developing countries, to challenge the political and economic power of the wealthier nations of North America and Western Europe. Russian Aerospace Foreces – Attack Helicopters – Mi-35P, Ka-52, Mi-24, Mi-28NM

Attack Helicopters Mi-35P, Ka-52, Mi-24, Mi-28NM

26. dec. 2021 – Helicopters have often been named the workhorses of modern war. They transport troops and various cargoes, evacuate wounded personnel, conduct air support, and reconnaissance, etc. Russia has a wide range of modern helicopters that meet the strictest requirements of military hardware. There are 37 countries that currently operate 3,330 helicopter gunships. Despite having advanced choppers Russia comes to second place after the US in terms of gunship numbers. US AH-64 Apache leads the export list with 1,542 units. Russia occupies second place with 29 percent and exports three types of helicopters. In this video, we will be looking at the types of attack helicopters Russia is using and their lethality. US producers dominate the market with 62 percent followed by Russia (29%), France (4%), Italy (2%), the UK (2%), and Turkey (1%). 37 countries currently operate 3,330 helicopter gunships. 62 percent of them were produced by the United States. US AH-64 Apache leads the export list (1,542 units). AH-64D Block III designated as AH-64E Apache Guardian has been produced and exported since 2012. There are 448 of them in the world and the number will grow, as the interest of Western countries is on the rise and US ground forces plan to procure the helicopters. Russia occupies second place with 29 percent and exports three types of helicopters: Mi-24/35 Hind, Ka-52, and Mi-28. Mi-24 is the second in the world by the number of exported helicopters (521 units). Modern Mi-35M modification has been exported since 2005 and 179 helicopters were sold. Mi-24/35 family strikes at ground targets, engage in assault operations, transports small cargoes, but is no direct competitor to western gunships for several reasons. Therefore, Mi-28 Havoc (133 units), Ka-52 Hokum, and Ka-52K (204) are the real representatives of Russian gunships in the market niche. The Russian Defense Ministry plans to order another 114 Kamov helicopters in the framework of the 2018-2027 arms program.

6. jan. 2022 – The latest Russian Mi-28NM attack helicopter will turn into a fighter capable of handling enemy aircraft, drones and cruise missiles,” according to state-owned newspaper Izvestia, citing Russian defense industry sources. “Powerful R-74M ammunition will be installed on board the rotorcraft to destroy air targets. They are able to bring down even fifth-generation aircraft. Called the Russian “Night Hunter,” the new Mi-28NM is built with modernized engines, a new fuselage and an auxiliary power plant able to support next-generation onboard networking and electronic warfare systems. A Russian newspaper claims the country’s new combat helicopter gunship contains breakthrough technology to the point wherein its weapons, drone connectivity, communications networking, sensors and long-range targeting enable it to attack successfully from “outside of the enemy’s effective air defenses. The Mi-28NM’s onboard armament allows it to detect and destroy enemy targets around the clock and in any weather conditions while operating outside the enemy’s effective air defenses,” Vitaly Shcherbina, Chief Designer of the Combat Helicopter Program at Rostec, said.

Russian Aerospace Forces – Long Range Bombers – Tu-22M3, Tu-160 and Su-30, SU-30SM2

Piran, 24.1.2024

Tu-22M3, Tu-160, Su-30, SU-30 SM2 Long Range Bombers

11. apr. 2021 – The Tupolev Tu-22M (Russian: Туполев Ту-22М; NATO reporting name: Backfire) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau. According to some sources, the bomber was believed to be designated Tu-26 at one time. During the Cold War, the Tu-22M was operated by the Soviet Air Forces (VVS) in a missile carrier strategic bombing role, and by the Soviet Naval Aviation (Aviacija Vojenno-Morskogo Flota, AVMF) in a long-range maritime anti-shipping role. Significant numbers remain in service with the Russian Air Force, and as of 2014 more than 100 Tu-22Ms are in use.

19. feb. 2016 – The Tupolev Tu-160 Beliy Lebed (or White Swan,[1] Russian: Туполев Ту-160, NATO reporting name: Blackjack) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber designed by the Tupolev Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Although several civil and military transport aircraft are larger in overall dimensions, the Tu-160 is the world’s largest combat aircraft, largest supersonic aircraft and largest variable-sweep aircraft built. Entering service in 1987, the Tu-160 was the last strategic bomber designed for the Soviet Union. The Long Range Aviation branch of the Russian Air Force has 16 aircraft with fewer in active use. The Tu-160 active fleet has been undergoing upgrades to electronics systems since the early 2000s. The Tu-160M modernisation programme has begun with the first new updated aircraft delivered in December 2014.

21. feb. 2020 – The Sukhoi Su-30 (Russian: Сухой Су-30; NATO reporting name: Flanker-C) is a twin-engine, two-seat supermaneuverable fighter aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by Russia’s Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. It is a multirole fighter for all-weather, air-to-air and air-to-surface deep interdiction missions. The Su-30 started out as an internal development project in the Sukhoi Su-27 family by Sukhoi. The design plan was revamped and the name was made official by the Russian Defense Ministry in 1996. Of the Flanker family, the Su-27, Su-30, Su-33, Su-34 and Su-35 have been ordered into limited or serial production by the Defense Ministry. The Su-30 has two distinct version branches, manufactured by competing organisations: KnAAPO and the Irkut Corporation, both of which come under the Sukhoi group’s umbrella. KnAAPO manufactures the Su-30MKK and the Su-30MK2, which were designed for and sold to China, and later Indonesia, Uganda, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Due to KnAAPO’s involvement from the early stages of developing Su-35, these are basically a two-seat version of the mid-1990s Su-35. The Chinese chose an older but lighter radar so the canards could be omitted in return for increased payload. It is a fighter with both air supremacy and attack capabilities, generally similar to the U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle. Irkut traditionally served the Soviet Air Defense and, in the early years of Flanker development, was given the responsibility of manufacturing the Su-27UB, the two-seat trainer version. When India showed interests in the Su-30, Irkut offered the multirole Su-30MKI, which originated as the Su-27UB modified with avionics appropriate for fighters. Along with its ground-attack capabilities, the series adds features for the air-superiority role, such as canards, thrust-vectoring, and a long-range phased-array radar. Its derivatives include the Su-30MKM, MKA, and SM for Malaysia, Algeria, and Russia, respectively. The Russian Air Force operates several Su-30s and has ordered the Su-30SM version.

14. mar. 2023 – Meet Russia’s New Su 30SM2 ‘Deadlier Super Sukhoi’ Fighter Jet The Russian Military has reportedly taken delivery of its first Su-30SM2 heavyweight fighters, which represent the first new Su-30 variant to enter service in over a decade and provide significant improvements over the prior Su-30SM design. Anticipated for close to a decade, the fighter integrates the same AL-41F-1S engine as that used by the Su-35S which provides a much improved thrust to weight ratio and greater fuel efficiency for a superior flight performance and higher endurance.

C5+1’s Diplomatic Summits: 2015 * 2016 * 2017 * 2018 * 2019 * 2020 * 2021

19. sep. 2023 – President Biden convened the first meeting of the C5+1 with leaders from Central Asian countries on September 19, 2023.

20. sep. 2023 – To date, Central Asia is emerging as a promising and serious player in the global economy. According to Yersultan Zhanseitov, an expert in the Astana-based Institute of World Economy and Politics (IWEP), the first meeting of U.S. President Joe Biden in the C5+1 presidential summit marks the growing interest of the West in the Central Asian region and Kazakhstan, which is its natural leader. As noted by Zhanseitov, such a process is justified. The region is demonstrating positive growth dynamics, and economic ties between the five countries are strengthening. Besides trade in traditional resources, the countries are developing logistics, reinforcing their transit potential. Kazakhstan, thanks to the scale and possibilities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, represents a connecting link between East and West. “We will receive important signals from the U.S. that the Central Asian region is important for the country not only economically, but also politically, in particular, on the issue of Afghanistan. As we know, despite the various current processes in geopolitics, the Afghan issue remains topical, and in general, the world’s major countries, including the U.S., are interested in stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan. In this regard, Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries are partners for Washington D.C. Thus, we are cooperating across various domains with the U.S., including investments, economy and interaction at the political level, and we are strategic partners at large,” said Zhanseitov.
