C5+1’s Diplomatic Summits: 2015 * 2016 * 2017 * 2018 * 2019 * 2020 * 2021

19. sep. 2023 – President Biden convened the first meeting of the C5+1 with leaders from Central Asian countries on September 19, 2023.

20. sep. 2023 – To date, Central Asia is emerging as a promising and serious player in the global economy. According to Yersultan Zhanseitov, an expert in the Astana-based Institute of World Economy and Politics (IWEP), the first meeting of U.S. President Joe Biden in the C5+1 presidential summit marks the growing interest of the West in the Central Asian region and Kazakhstan, which is its natural leader. As noted by Zhanseitov, such a process is justified. The region is demonstrating positive growth dynamics, and economic ties between the five countries are strengthening. Besides trade in traditional resources, the countries are developing logistics, reinforcing their transit potential. Kazakhstan, thanks to the scale and possibilities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, represents a connecting link between East and West. “We will receive important signals from the U.S. that the Central Asian region is important for the country not only economically, but also politically, in particular, on the issue of Afghanistan. As we know, despite the various current processes in geopolitics, the Afghan issue remains topical, and in general, the world’s major countries, including the U.S., are interested in stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan. In this regard, Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries are partners for Washington D.C. Thus, we are cooperating across various domains with the U.S., including investments, economy and interaction at the political level, and we are strategic partners at large,” said Zhanseitov.

29. okt. 2023 – The C5+1 is a diplomatic framework established in 2015, which serves as a pivotal platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration among five Central Asian nations, namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the United States. This initiative was officially launched in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, signifying an essential evolution in the diplomatic engagement between the United States and the Central Asian region. The primary objectives of the C5+1 framework encompass enhancing regional cooperation, addressing security concerns, and promoting economic development. The United States’ participation in this diplomatic initiative is driven by its strategic interests in Central Asia, underscoring the region’s significance in the realms of geopolitics, security, and economic opportunities

The Real Battlefield…BRI vs B3W

Piran, 6.7.2023

In the shadow of the Proxy War in Ukraine, which is intended to weaken Russia, a new geopolitical picture of the world is emerging before our eyes. Sanctions have the opposite effect, harming those who support them rather than those they are aimed at. Despite the fact that the US NATO-backed Proxy War in Ukraine is failing to achieve its stated objectives, the West continues to supply Ukraine with arms and money. The forthcoming NATO meeting in Vilnius-Lituania will thus not be a celebration of the successful Ukrainian counter-offensive, on the contrary, it will be a reflection of the real picture on the battlefield.

Behind the scenes, an economic war is being waged in which China is far outpacing the US. BRI vs B3W – China started BRI in 2013 – So far, China’s “One Belt, One Road” has attracted the participation of 151 countries, formed more than 3,000 cooperation projects, and led to investment of more than one trillion US dollars. US started B3W in 2021 – In response to China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative, US President Joe Biden proposed an infrastructure plan called “B3W”. The “B3W Project” is a global initiative in which the United States and its allies such as the G7 countries jointly participate in investment and construction.

Difference between BRI and B3W: BRI advocates multipolarity and a policy of non-interference, while B3W advocates unipolarity and respect of American values. The results are visible in developments on the world geopolitical scene, in the creation of an alternative financial system and in the rise of multipolarism in the world.

The NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius from July 11 to 12, was to become a triumph for the West in its difficult struggle against Russia. However, as often happens, everything went wrong again. The offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was supposed to tear the Russian army to shreds with the help of Western weapons, suffered a complete failure.

6. jul. 2023 – So far, China’s “One Belt, One Road” has attracted the participation of 151 countries, formed more than 3,000 cooperation projects, and led to investment of more than one trillion US dollars. China builds these cooperation projects, mainly in the field of infrastructure, which not only improves the investment environment of many countries, but even accelerates their economic development speed In response to China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative, US President Joe Biden proposed an infrastructure plan called “B3W”. The “B3W Project” is a global initiative in which the United States and its allies such as the G7 countries jointly participate in investment and construction. According to the plan, the investment scale of the “B3W Plan” will exceed US$40 trillion, aiming to support infrastructure construction and other development projects in low- and middle-income countries. These include a series of infrastructure construction such as trade ports, railways, and roads. In addition, the plan is committed to providing sustainable, high-quality, low-carbon and digital infrastructure for low- and middle-income countries, covering areas such as transportation, energy, digital technology and communication, while creating new business investment opportunities and promoting local employment . So, what will the US “B3W” plan bring to the world? Can it beat China’s Belt and Road Initiative and win the support of other countries?

Accordingly, the main regional integration blocks that could form the BRICS+ platform include Mercosur, South African Customs Union (SACU), EEU, SAARC, as well as the China-ASEAN FTA. Altogether, in such a setting 35 countries form the BRICS+ circle:

The Real Battlefield…Multipolarity vs Unipolarity

Piran, 27.6.2023

While much of the world is beginning to understand the causes of the Ukraine crisis, the European Union is increasingly becoming a vassal of the United States of America. In the mean time, the US, as is its old custom, is involved on both sides of the conflict, supporting Ukraine and selling arms to the Wagner Group.
